Thief stabbed by victim after snatching gold chains
A 22-year-old man of King Edwards Street, Albouystown Georgetown is under Police guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital nursing several stab wounds after he allegedly snatched three “gold coloured” chains from a construction worker on Sunday at the Grove minibus park in Georgetown.
Police said that the 20-year-old construction worker of Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara and the suspect were both passengers inside the route 42 minibus.
Upon reaching the minibus park, the suspect after exiting the minibus grabbed the chains from the victim’s neck and said to him “don’t’ say nothing.” This occurred at around 13:46hrs.

The suspect fell to the ground and the victim picked up his chains.
The Police said that the suspect managed to escape while the victim made a report to the Brickdam Police Station.
The suspect was subsequently taken to the Georgetown Hospital by “unknown persons” where he is admitted.
