Canal No. 2 cattle farmer found dead in shallow grave
An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 68-year-old pensioner and cattle farmer whose body was found in a shallow grave behind the Canal No. 2 Belle West Pasture, West Bank Demerara with several stab wounds to the chest area.
Dead is Sohan Ramdial known as ‘Nancy of Canal No. 2 Claybrick Road. His body was discovered at around 11:00hrs.
Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean said Ramdial left his home on Sunday at about 17:00hrs to rear his cattle in the pasture where his body was found.
The Commander said Ramdial’s children and other relatives launched a search on Monday when he did not return home.
Relatives noticed freshly cut grass in an area and saw that some dirt was also recently dug up.
The News Room understands that the Ramdial would rear his cattle in the pasture every day.
Police investigations are ongoing.
