A female employee of a medical institution is in Police custody after she reportedly threatened to shoot her male partner with an unlicensed pistol Monday.
Police Headquarters revealed that the woman was disarmed at about 12:10hrs at Chapel Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
The gun along with two live ammunition was promptly handed over to the Police at Central Police Station.
According to the Police, the woman reportedly told investigators that she borrowed the weapon from a New Amsterdam barber who has since refuted the allegation.
The barber is also in Police custody as Police continue their investigations.
