Police are on the hunt for Vivakan Indal, a resident of Whim Village, East Berbice Corentyne who brutally chopped and beat his older sister on Easter Monday during an argument.
The News Room understands that the siblings were involved in a heated argument at around 08:50 hrs at their Lot 21, Wire Dam Whim home when the man picked up a piece of wood and beat his 56-year-old sister.
It is alleged that he then grabbed a cutlass and chopped her about the body before he escaped.
The sister was taken to the Port Mourant Hospital for treatment and a report was made to the Whim Police Station.
The brother is believed to be hiding in the backlands.
