Two new COVID-19 cases confirmed, 49 in isolation
As of April 19, Guyana confirmed two new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of cases to 65, including seven deaths and nine recoveries.
The Ministry of Public Health announced Sunday that 322 persons have tested for the disease of which 257 results were negative.
There are 49 persons in institutional isolation and 21 in institutional quarantine while four persons are now in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Guyana recorded its latest COVID-19 death on April 18.
The victim is a 49-year-old visually impaired man from Linden, Region 10 who was fighting for his life in the ICU.
Region Four accounts for the majority of cases in the country.
