Woman beats Pork-knocker to death over missing gun

Police are on the hunt for a 23-year-old woman of 111 Miles, Mahdia Potaro-Siparuni who allegedly beat a 24-year-old pork-knocker to death after she accused him of stealing her gun.

Police Headquarters in a brief statement Monday night did not reveal the woman’s name but noted that the incident occurred on Sunday, May 3 at around 14:30h in the Siparuni Backdam.

Dead is Vanir Nasio of Paramakatoi Village, North Pakaraimas.

Police said the two worked together on a four-inch land dredge and on the day in question, they were in the camp when a heated argument ensued over the missing gun.

“As a consequence, the suspect reportedly dealt the victim several kicks and cuffs about his body,” Police Headquarters said.

Nasio left the camp on foot in the company of a female miner en-route to Mabura to seek medical attention but died on the trail.
