Work interrupted at Station 8 as everyone screened for COVID-19
Work at recount station No. 8 for Region Four was interrupted Tuesday morning because everyone had to be screened for COVID-19.
The News Room understands that doctors who are stationed at the health tent outside approached the station to say that someone complained that one of the agents was coughing a lot and as a result, everyone had to be screened.
The agent coughing represents APNU+AFC and had accused the PPP agents of calling in the doctors. But Marcia Nadir-Sharma, the agent for the PPP, said she wanted to make it clear that the PPP did not make any such complaint.
The screening involved taking personal details of everyone – their contact number and home address – and their temperature was checked.
As a result, for the morning, only one ballot box was opened for that workstation.
