A 49-year-old coconut vendor of Vigilance Squatting Area, East Coast Demerara died on Sunday after he fell from a coconut tree.
Dead is Albert Moffatt called ‘Biggie’.
Police Headquarters said the incident occurred at about 08:20hrs Sunday at Firendship, East Coast Demerara.
According to reports Moffatt goes around the village picking coconuts to sell. On Sunday, he climbed a tree about 20 feet high when residents heard a crashing sound and upon checking saw that Moffatt fell.
He was found lying motionless.
Residents subsequently called the police who took Moffatt to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police said an investigation is ongoing.
