The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) on Monday commenced counting ballot boxes for Regions Eight and Nine at the two work stations previously assigned to Region Five.
Region Eight is the least populated region with just 55 ballot boxes to be completed while Region Nine has 73.
On Monday, GECOM completed the remaining seven boxes for Region Five, 18 for Region Three, 21 for Region Four, 18 for Region Six, seven for Region Seven, five for Region Eight and six for Region Nine.
That brings the total for Day-20 to 82 ballot boxes and an overall total of 1,206.
The deadline for the completion of the process is Saturday, May 30 but the Commission is expected to agree on an extension before that date.
Of the total number of boxes counted, 1,169 were tabulated for General elections and 1,177 for Regional.
