With the recount and tabulation completed for District Seven, the certificate for the District has been signed off by all parties except APNU+AFC despite that party gaining the most votes in the Cuyuni-Mazaruni Region.

The Coalition has an issue with the use of the words “valid votes” on the certificates because of its claims that the names of persons dead or out of the country were marked off as having voted.

The recount showed that APNU+AFC gained 4,813 votes – a reduction of four when compared to the original declaration made by the Returning Officer for that district. The People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) gained 3,728 votes, according to the recount – an increase of eight – when compared to the original declaration of the Returning Officer.

It also revealed that A New and United Guyana (ANUG) gained 77 votes compared to 78 previously declared; Change Guyana -67; Liberty and Justice Party- 884, and the United Republican Party- 23.

The total valid votes cast were 9,592.

The PPP/C received 3,703 votes in the regional election, which is also an increase from the 3,692 previously declared.
