BOSAI donates over $1.7M to Region 10 COVID-19 fight

Bosai Mineral Group (BOSAI) in Linden, Region 10 donated over G$1.7M to support the Region’s fight against COVID-19.

Public Relations Officer of BOSAI, Vanessa Mitchell-Davis in a statement said the company is cognizant that persons from the Region form part of its workforce and as such will be assisting the residents.

Approximately 100 seniors from across Linden received hampers at a total cost of G$800,000. The hampers were delivered directly to the homes of the seniors.

The Regional Democratic Council and the Mayor and Town Council also received G$700,000 in food items to assist families.

The PR Officer said this will assist several families who were experiencing grave financial difficulties during this health crisis.

Additionally, the sum of G$200,000 was donated to the hot meals feeding programme – an initiative of the Linden Business Network.

“We recognize that many persons may not be able to secure a plate of food so we collaborated with the Linden Business Network in ensuring that persons are given a hot meal each day, thus helping to reduce the evident hunger that we have recognized as a result of the COVID pandemic,” the PR Officer said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Regional Health and Emergency Committee (RHEC), Orrin Gordon expressed sincere thanks to BOSAI Company for supporting the people of Region Ten during this very difficult period.

A one-year-old child and a 12-year-old are among the COVID-19 positive cases in the Region. The first COVID-19 related death in the region is– 49-year-old Sydney Trellis popularly known as ‘Jacket’.
