Police have arrested Khemlall Bisnauth who reportedly stabbed his 45-year-old brother to death during an argument Saturday at their Shieldtown Village, West Coast Berbice home.
Dead is Sardanand Bisnauth known as ‘Longhair’ and ‘Sadeo’; he was a labourer.
The News Room understands that he received a single stabbed wound to the region of his chest.
A neighbour told the News Room that he heard a loud argument followed by screaming at around 13:30h. Upon venturing outside, he learned that ‘Longhair’ was stabbed.
Another neighbour said that the suspect is known to consume alcohol on a regular basis and is usually engaged in frequent arguments with his brother and father at the home.
“Them does fight and cuss a lot,” the neighbour noted.
The suspect was reportedly drunk at the time of the incident.
The Police responded to the scene in a timely manner and was able to apprehend the suspect after he tried to escape.
