The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) on Saturday completed the recount of Region 8 and relocated the workstation to Region 4 which has the most ballot boxes outstanding in the national recount process.
A total of 402 ballot boxes have been recounted for Region 4 – Guyana’s largest voting district – at the end of Saturday and there are 477 outstanding.
Region 4 now has five workstations.
At the end of Day 25 of the recount, GECOM completed 84 boxes bringing the total number of boxes to 1,639; 700 ballot boxes are now outstanding in total.
On Saturday, 25 boxes were recounted for Region 4; 27 for Region 6; 6 for Region 8; 11 for Region 9 and 15 for Region 10.
