The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) on Monday completed the recount of 73 ballot boxes for Region Nine and allocated that workstation to Region 10.
GECOM has now completed the recount of Regions 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 9.
The recount is ongoing for Regions 4, 6 and 10.
There are now five workstations for Region 4, four for Region 6 and three for Region 10.
Region 4, which is the country’s largest voting district, has the most outstanding boxes to be recounted with 436 remaining at the end of Sunday.
There are a total of 2,339 ballot boxes in the ten electoral districts.
The recount of ballots cast on March 2, 2020, is expected to be concluded before June 13.
