    Seven more persons recover from COVID-19, no new cases

    Seven more persons have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 77 while Guyana has not recorded any new cases for the fourth consecutive day.

    The Ministry of Public Health on Thursday reported a total of 20 more tests were done within 24 hours. To date, the total number of persons tested is 1, 719.

    There are currently 64 active cases of which three persons are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

    There are 25 persons in institutional quarantine and the number of deaths remains at 12.

    The Ministry continues to plead with residents of Regions 1, 6, 7, 8 and 9 to remain on high alert as cases in neighbouring Brazil and Suriname continue to increase.

    In the last 24 hours, Brazil recorded 11, 598 cases and 623 deaths.

    Also, Suriname has recorded 26 new cases in the last 24 hours; there are 82 confirmed cases in Suriname.
