74 ballot boxes outstanding in recount process

The Guyana Elections Commission on Saturday recounted 93 ballot boxes from Region 4 – the only Region left in the recount process.
A total of 74 ballot boxes now remains to be counted from this region and it is expected to be completed Sunday.
At the end of Saturday, a total of 2,236 Statements of Recount (SORs) were tabulated for the General elections and 2,229 for the Regional elections.
According to figures published by The Citizenship Initiative (TCI) based on the tabulation done thus far, the Opposition People’s Progressive Party is leading with 220,073 votes while the incumbent APNU+AFC gained 205,756 votes.
At the end of Saturday, the PPP was leading by 14,317 votes.
