Delivery man robbed of motorcycle, cash and cellphones

An employee of Xpress delivery was on Friday morning robbed of his motorcycle CK 4139 and other valuables in South Ruimveldt Park, Georgetown.

The incident occurred at about 10:20hrs. Natasha Goodridge, the owner of the delivery service told the News Room that the man had just dropped off an item at Congress Drive, South Ruimveldt when he was attacked.

According to her, he had just left the customer’s home and was making his way out of the street when he noticed two males walking in front of him.

He slowed down to avoid splashing water on the men when they turned around, held him at gun point, and took away his motorcycle, two phones and an undisclosed amount of cash.

One of the men was also armed with a knife.

During the incident, which was caught on surveillance cameras, the motorcyclist was observed in in a scuffle with one of the men as he initially resisted attempts to steal his cellphones.

The robbers then sped off with the motorcycle.

Goodridge said the man walked back to his customer’s home and made contact with her and the Police.

A report was made to the East La Penitence police outpost.
