Police are on the hunt for three men who gagged, tied up and beat a 27-year-old ‘sales girl’ on Wednesday at Quartz Stone Backdam, Cuyuni River.
The News Room understands that the victim is employed to operate a shop at the waterfront when on the day in question, the three men entered at around 20:30h and bought three Banks Beer.
In the process of being served, two of the men whipped out handguns and forced the victim into a room where they gagged her and bound her feet and hands with scotch tape.
The victim told the Police that the men slapped her and demanded cash and jewellery.
The gunmen escaped with a Digicel Modem valued $160,000; a $100,000 gold chain; a gold ring valued at $30,000 along with $100,000 in cash.
The victim freed herself after the gunmen left and reported the incident to her employer who then filed a report at the Bartica Police Station on Thursday.
Police investigations are ongoing.
