A Guyana Police Force officer died Sunday afternoon after he lost control and crashed the car he was driving at Land of Plenty, Essequibo Coast.
Dead is 25-year-old Lakhan Persaud of Colombia Village, Essequibo. Police Headquarters in a statement said the accident occurred at about 13:35hrs. Persaud was attached to the Police Finance Office at Force’s Headquarters, Eve Leary in Georgetown.
The News Room understands that Persaud was speeding at the time of the accident and lost control of the car PRR 5764 he was driving.
Persaud crashed into several vehicles and spare parts which were being showcased in front of Balram Kawal’s Auto Sales. He was taken to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
