A Police Constable who crashed into a pedal cyclist and killed him on the spot on June 14, succumbed to his injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital Tuesday morning without regaining consciousness.
Dead is 30-year-old Navindra Jodhan who resided at John Street, New Amsterdam Berbice. He was attached to the Central Police Station in New Amsterdam.
On the day of the accident, he was part of a biker’s crew known to speed along the Corentyne on Sunday afternoons.
At around 16:30hrs on June 14, Jodhan was speeding along the Number 68 Public Road when the crashed into pedal cyclist Malchan Ramdanny, 47, a labourer of Number 69 Village.
At the time of the accident, Ramdanny attempted to cross the road from west to east.
