Reifer takes 5-60 in practice game

Barbados left-arm seamer Raymon Reifer starred with the ball on day two of the West Indies three-day, intra-squad practice game at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Reifer claimed 5-60 as Jason Holder’s XI, responding to Kraigg Brathwaite’s XI 275 made on day one, were skittled out for 193 in 51.1 overs.

Newcomer Marquino Mindley took 3-27, while Sunil Ambris (52), Kyle Mayers (45) and Shayne Moseley (40) were among the runs.

Batting a second time, Brathwaite’s XI were given a solid start of 88 in 18.4 overs by Brathwaite (34) and John Campbell (49) before the slipped to 99-3 by the close, an overall lead of 181.

On the opening day, half-centuries from Brathwaite (84) and Shai Hope (83) were the cornerstone of Brathwaite’s XI total, with Alzarri Joseph taking 4-60 and Shannon Gabriel 3-32.
