Several batsmen got half-centuries on the final day of West Indies intra-squad, three-day practice game at Emirates Old Trafford on Thursday.
Kraigg Brathwaite’s XI, resuming on 99-3, declared at 231-4 with Shamarh Brooks hitting 66 not out and Shane Dowrich an unbeaten 56.
The declaration at lunch meant Jason Holder’s XI were faced with a target of 313 to win the game. Predictably, the batsmen opted to spend some time in the middle rather than take up the chase, and Holder’s XI ended on 149-3 off 44 overs when play was called off.
Opener Shane Moseley scored an unbeaten 83, and was the third batsman after Brathwaite and Shai Hope to get into the 80s in the match. Nkrumah Bonner was not out on 24.
West Indies final warm-up game- a four-day contest- will begin on June 29. The first of three Tests in a bio-secure environment behind closed doors will bowl off on July 8 at the Ageas Bowl.
