Employees confess to beating, robbing gold miner

Three men have reportedly confessed to beating and robbing their boss of a quantity of raw gold at Sandhill/Oku Landing, Cuyuni River Region Seven.

Police Headquarters said the incident occurred at about 17:30h on Friday.

The miner, 62-year-old Adam Da Silva, of Boa Vista, Brazil/Sandhill Landing was beaten about his body; Police said he suffered a fractured leg and multiple lacerations.

Da Silva is admitted at the Bartica Regional Hospital in a stable condition.

The suspects, ages 19, 20 and 23, who are residents of East Bank Essequibo and Essequibo Coast, respectively told investigators that they committed the act because they were not paid for work done.
