West Indies four-day, intra-squad warm-up game petered out into a draw on Thursday with the highlight being batting performances by Kyle Mayers and Joshua DaSilva.

Responding to Jason Holder’s XI 272, Kraigg Brathwaite’s XI, resuming on 112-7, finished on 178, thanks largely to a 56-ball unbeaten 74 (9×4, 3x6s) from Mayers. Keon Harding made 22, as Shannon Gabriel picked up 4-42, and there were two each for Kemar Roach and Alzarri Joseph.

Holder’s XI, batting a second time with a lead of 94, reached 171-4 when the bails were lifted with DaSilva, who made an unbeaten 133 in the first innings, hitting 56 not out.

Nkrumah Bonner made 47 and Jermaine Blackwood 43, as Anderson Philip picked up 2-20. The first of three Test matches between the West Indies and England will bowl off on July 8 at the Ageas Bowl.
