Plaisance resident found dead

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 35-year-old old man whose body was found floating in a trench Monday morning at Prince William Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara.

Dead is Hillary Shepeard of Prince William Street.

Police Headquarters said that Shepeard suffered from seizures and there is a suspicion that he may have drowned.

The News Room understands that Shepheard had an accident several years ago while working in the interior after which he began to experience the seizures.

Neighbours reported seeing the body floating face down at about 09:30h.

Residents removed the body along with a bicycle and haversack.

Shepeard was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

His body is at the Lyken Funeral home awaiting a post mortem examination.
