The suspect in the murder of 37-year-old Andre Easton of ‘B’ Field Sophia, died at the Georgetown Public Hospital hours after he was involved in a shootout with Police during his arrest Wednesday.

Keron Mark Adams was shot and arrested at Mocha, East Bank Demerara shortly after Police Headquarters released a wanted bulletin for his arrest.

Regional Commander Senior Superintendent Phillip Azore confirmed that Adams died at the GPHC Wednesday but could not state the time of death.

Police Headquarters earlier reported that at about 13:45h ranks after being tipped off, went to the location and found Adams, who upon seeing the ranks whipped out a handgun and started shooting at the Police.

The officers returned fire and Adams was shot. He was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Hospital and subsequently transferred to the GPHC.

The unlicensed pistol was also retrieved at the scene.

Easton, a father of a nine-month-old baby girl, was gunned down Tuesday morning after an argument with Adams and his wife over his (Easton’s) horse.

The dead man’s wife, Samantha Shelto told the News Room that Easton and Adams were previously engaged in an argument Monday over where to put horse when Adams threatened to shoot him.

A Police report was made about the threats, according to the wife.

The wife explained that Easton normally takes the horse to graze at the field where he was gunned down.

Subsequently, residents in the area set fire to Adams’ house, completely destroying it.
