Guyanese Ingram Johnson and Abdullah Hamid will be among 37 of their regional counterparts to participate in FUTURO III, a Referee Instructors Programme, starting today and ending July 15.
This year the programme will be hosted via an online platform due to the COVID-19 pandemic and, according to a correspondence from FIFA, it “will focus on the education of referee technical instructors from member associations.”
The candidates, who were selected by both FIFA and Concacaf, will be expected to be in session from 08:45h to 12:00h each day. Joint selection of candidates, FIFA noted, “is key to the successful organisation of the course and for the continued development of refereeing in the associations.”
National knowledge transfer of key principles is an expected output of the sessions. Sherwin Moore, a former FIFA Referee, will participate as an observer of the sessions along with two Concacaf personnel.
