One new COVID-19 case; 14 more recoveries

One new confirmed case of COVID-19 was recorded on July 11, 2020, bringing the total number of known cases in Guyana to 291.

Fourteen more persons also recovered from the disease and so the total recoveries now stands at 148.

So far a total of 3,166 tests were done. There are 126 persons in institutional isolation and 19 persons in institutional quarantine.

Guyana also recorded its 17th COVID-19 related death on July 11. The patient, a 69-year-old woman, was discovered dead Saturday by hospital staff at the West Demerara Regional Hospital in Vreed-en-Hoop.

The News Room was reliably informed that the woman, who resided on the lower East Coast of Demerara, had multiple complications and she was in the isolation unit of the hospital.

Her name was not released to the media.
