An Eastern Airlines flight with 206 Guyanese passengers and crew on board skidded off the runway at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) shortly after landing Wednesday afternoon.
None of the passengers or crew was injured and no damage was done to the aircraft.
Public Relations Officer at CJIA, Shunza Samuels told the News Room the plane landed at about 14:30h and upon turning on the runway, a pair of its wheels came off, causing the aircraft to glide before coming to a halt.
The Guyanese nationals were returning home from New York.
