A Perseverance, Essequibo Coast man is in a stable condition at the Suddie Hospital after he and his wife were badly beaten and robbed by three male bandits who were armed with a gun, a hammer and a crow-bar.
Police Headquarters in a brief statement noted that Gordon Williams and his reputed wife Lorna Scott were robbed at their home on Tuesday night at around 23:00h.
Police said the victims were assaulted and relieved of a sum of cash and jewellery. Two persons have been detained for questioning.
