Nigel Dharamlall to be appointed Minister of Local Government

Nigel Dharamlall, who held several positions under successive PPP governments, is Wednesday afternoon expected to be sworn in as Minister of Local Government.

Dharamlall served as Permanent Secretary interchangeably at the Ministries of Local Government and Amerindian Affairs between 2009-2015.

Before that, he served as Chief Fisheries Officer and head of the Caribbean Festival of Arts in 2008.

He also served as the Marketing Manager then chairman of the Guyana Rice Development Board.

Dharamlall, 46, from West Coast Berbice, has one son.
