NIS closes Lethem office after staff comes into contact with COVID patient
The National Insurance Scheme (NIS) has temporarily closed its Lethem Office after one of its staff came into contact with a person who later tested positive for COVID-19.
NIS in a statement said nine persons are employed by the office.
It said the entity was advised by the COVID-19 Task Force to “to facilitate the proper sanitizing of the facility among other measures.”
NIS said it regrets any inconvenience caused.
Region Nine has so far confirmed 102 COVID-19 cases with of which 96 are active. Of that amount, eight are in the town of Lethem.
