Gold miner arrested after threatening to kill dredge owner
A 33-year-old gold miner of Post Office Street, Grove, East Bank Demerara was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly threatened to kill a dredge owner, Darrel ‘Gaza’ Obermuller.
Police ranks from the Bartica Police Station also found an unlicensed black 9mm Pietro Beretta Pistol and three live rounds in the possession of the miner at his camp in Quartzstone Backdam, Cuyuni River.
The News Room understands that the miner visited Obermuller’s mining camp in search of him and left when he did not find him.
The miner subsequently returned to his camp when he was arrested by the Police who were waiting for him.
