Mathews Ridge in Region One has been without electricity since March 2020, according to Regional Chairman Brentnol Ashley and Vice-Chairman Sarah Browne.

The Regional heads visited Minister of Public Works, Bishop Juan Edghill to discuss the matters emanating in the Region.

According to a statement from the Ministry, Minister Edghill was shocked. He said, “notwithstanding the issues of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the Ministry of Public Health safety guidelines, this matter should have already been resolved.”

Further, the Minister assured action will be taken to resolve the matter assiduously.

Additionally, Minister Edghill has instructed his team at the Hinterland Electrification Company Inc. to make contact with the engineers/mechanics on the ground to have the engines up and running immediately as he would like the people to regain their power supply tonight.

  1. Thank you, Min Edghill, for helping these people promptly. It is preposterous that these people have been without electricity since March.
We all know what the APNUAFC were focusing their energies on since March 2nd so it is not surprising that huge areas of the country were left abandoned.
