21 new COVID-19 cases overnight; 5 in ICU

Guyana on August 12 recorded 21 new COVID-19 cases in less than 24 hours bringing the overall total to 623 known cases.

The new cases include seven males and 14 females; with 22 deaths and 191 recoveries, there are 412 persons in institutional isolation including five persons in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The Ministry of Health did not reveal where the new cases were recorded.

There are 49 persons in institutional quarantine. Thus far a total of 5,462 persons have been tested for COVID-19.

  1. WHY NOT REVEAL THE AREA OF INFECTION??????/. IT ENABLES PERSONS TO TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF THEY LIVE IN THAT PARTICULAR PART OF GUYANA OR GEORGETOWN OR REGION. PLEASE PRIVACY ISSUES ARE NOT AS SACRED IN A PANDEMIC….THEY CANNOT BE AND IF I GET COVID I AM FINE WITH ME NEIGHBOURS KNOWING SO THEY DON’T KISS ME ANYMORE.
