    Guyana on August 13 recorded eight new COVID-19 cases bringing the total number of known cases to 631.

    With 22 deaths and 202 recoveries, there are 420 actives cases of the deadly virus and those persons are in institutional isolation including five persons in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

    Of the eight new cases, one was recorded in Region Two, two in Region Four, one case in Region Seven, three in Region Nine and one in Region 10.

    The new cases are four males and four females. Overall, there are 316 males and 315 females infected.

    The Ministry of Health revealed that 104 cases were recorded in Region One, seven in Region Two, 29 in Region Three, 164 in Region Four, one case in Region Six, 148 cases in Region Seven, 10 in Region Eight, 136 in Region Nine and 34 in Region 10.

    The Ministry did not say how many ACTIVE cases there are in each region.

    To date, 5,638 persons have tested for the virus.
