Longstanding and well-known Broadcaster Michella Abraham-Ali has been appointed to act as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Communications Network (NCN).

The appointment, though temporary, was made by the Minister of Public Affairs within the Office of the Prime Minister, Kwame McCoy.

McCoy, who has control of the state media entities, has also appointed Finance Manager of the Guyana National Newspaper Ltd. (GNNL), Mrs. Moshamie Ramotar, to act as General Manager.

Both will act until a substantive CEO and General Manager is appointed respectively. The appointments take immediate effect.

These appointments follow the termination of the contract of the Head of NCN.

The Executive Chairman of NCN, Enrico Woolford received his letter of termination yesterday.

There has been no word on the continued employment of Ganesh Mahipaul who held the post of General Manager (ag) of the Guyana Chronicle under the previous administration.

The Office of the Prime Minister has made it clear that it has full responsibility for communication under the PPP government.

Ganesh Manipaul……is gainfully employed trying to catch dead people as exhibits in the Election Petition……he is seen wandering around the cemetery road most nights. Don’t worry he. Once he gets his Visa back he will be traveling abroad to find people who voted from over dere.
