As part of its continued efforts to assist budding cricketers, Cricket Zone USA has added another exciting, young talent to its Adidas Brand Ambassador programme.

Trinidad and Tobago wicketkeeper/batsman Amir Jangoo is the latest entrant to the list, securing a one-year kit deal with the global sport brand. The partnership was brokered by Ravi Etwaroo, the Managing Director of Cricket Zone USA, North America’s largest cricket retail outlet.

Jangoo will christen his new kit in this year’s Hero Caribbean Premier League, slated to start on August 18, as he has been drafted by three-time champions Trinbago Knight Riders.

The 23-year-old former West Indies Under-19 cricketer is yet to debut in the CPL, and he is hopeful when that opportunity comes he will be able to make a big impact.

“Adidas is an amazing brand and it’s an honour to be able to be sponsored by them,” Jangoo told News Room Sport.

“I think this will really help me in my career going forward and I really appreciate it.”

Etwaroo said Cricket Zone USA is always looking for opportunities to make the dreams of young cricketers come to fruition and this is just another example.

He wished Jangoo well during the upcoming CPL, and other regional engagements such as the Regional Four-Day Championship and the Super50 Cup.

While Jangoo is yet to play domestic T20s, the left-hander has appeared for Trinidad and Tobago, Combined Campuses and Colleges and Leeward Islands Hurricanes in First-Class and List A cricket.

In 22 First-Class games, he has amassed 1,104 runs at an average of 28.30, with the highest of his seven fifties being 96. During the last Regional Four-Day competition, he was among the runs, missing out of hundreds, falling for 90 in consecutive games.

In 36 List A matches, he has scored 826 runs at an average of 23.60 with five half-centuries, the highest being 69. Jangoo has also pouched a combined 60 catches behind the stumps and effected two stumpings.

He joins Guyanese quartet Chandrapaul Hemraj, Romario Shepherd, Kevlon Anderson and Kevin Sinclair on the list of Adidas Brand Ambassadors attached to Cricket Zone USA.
