Guyana has recorded 40 new COVID-19 cases as of August 19, 2020 bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 776.
Region One is reporting eight new cases, Region Three one case, Region Four 14 new cases, Region Six has now recorded six new cases, Region Seven has two new cases and Region Nine eight recorded new cases.
Guyana also recorded two new deaths in one day bringing the overall death toll to 27.
There are 68 persons in institutional isolation including two in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit and 298 persons are isolated at home.
A total of 55 persons are in institutional quarantine while 381 persons have recovered.
So far 6, 297 COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far.
