The Guyana Police Force on Friday discovered some 64 pounds of suspected cannabis at a burial ground in Kingelly and 72 pounds at the Weldaad Seawall, West Coast Berbice.

The drugs were found in two large transparent bulky plastic parcels.

As it relates to the drug bust at Kingelly, Police Headquarters noted that three motorcycles – CK 4203, CK 1363 CH 7170 – along with a green haversack containing a Samsung cell phone were also found in the burial ground.

Police said a male identified as Shawn Storm was in close proximity of the items and started to run when he saw the Police. Ranks chased after him but he managed to escape.

The parcels and motorcycles are lodged at the Weldaad Police Station.

Meanwhile, Police also acted on information received and found two more transparent parcels of cannabis at the Weldaad Seawall.

Regional Commander, Senior Superintendent Edmond Cooper and a party of ranks conducted the search on the seawall.
