30 new COVID-19 cases with 490 recoveries

Guyana recorded 30 new COVID-19 cases on August 23, 2020.

The overall confirmed cases are 955 and the total number of recoveries is now at 490.

With 31 COVID-19 deaths, there are 84 persons in institutional isolation including 13 in the COVID-19 ICU.

There are 337 persons in home isolation which means that the total number of active cases are 421.

Within a 24 hour period, Regions One, Two, Three, Four, Seven, Nine and Ten have all recorded new cases.

An additional 144 COVID-19 tests were done on Sunday and the overall number to date is 6, 904.

    Mornin all these figures are not accurate we have more that what u are showing, there’s 100s of tests now completed at yet backdated for almost 3 weeks

    Covid is here to stay. At least for the immediate future. The govt is doing all the right things but people cannot leave everything to the govt. They have to play their part by keeping the covid guidelines. After all it’s your life, people.
    I would like the news to prominently show the number of recoveries in the headlines the same way it shows the new cases and the deaths. The people need to hear some good news with the bad.

      I should mention that this news article did show the recoveries in the headlines so kudos to News Room. This is something that I have not been seeing before in the headlines in the various news outlets. New cases and deaths have been dominating.
