The University of Guyana on Tuesday revealed that the first academic semester will be held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The semester will now begin on October 5, 2020, and will conclude on February 13, 2021.
Registration for new and continuing students will be held from August 31, 2020, to September 30, 2020. Orientation will also be conducted online during the first week of October.
The end period for late registration is November 6, and the end date for change of registration, requests for transfers, requests for exemptions of courses and requests for withdrawal is November 13.
The deadline for payment of fees or submission of loan award is November 27, 2020. Final examinations for the semester will be held from January 25, 2021, to February 13, 2021.
The University stated that the situation will be reviewed and updated for Semester 2.
