33 new COVID-19 cases recorded

Guyana on August 26, 2020 recorded 33 new COVID-19 cases bringing the total known cases to 1, 093.

There are nine patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 95 in institutional isolation and 424 in home isolation.

The number of recovered cases to date is 534. The number of deaths remains at 31.

The new cases on Wednesday were recorded in Regions One, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven and Ten. Region One recorded 13 new cases which brings the overall to 158, Region Four recorded 11 new cases and now has a total number of 378, while Region Three recorded five new cases and now has a total of 60. Region Ten recorded three new cases and now has an overall of 75, while Regions Five, Six and Seven each recorded one new case.

The Ministry did not provide any information on the amount of COVID-19 tests done to date.

    We are going to have to have a total lockdown for 2 weeks to get rid of it substantially . This is the worst side affect of the rigging crew work.
