Three more COVID-19 deaths; 40 new cases, 9 in ICU

The Ministry of Health on Friday reported three more COVID-19 deaths without providing any details on the victims.

The announcement of the deaths was made in the daily dashboard when the figure for the total deaths changed from 32 to 35. The Ministry did not say where, when or the circumstances under which these persons died.

Guyana’s 32nd COVID-19 related death was announced Thursday.

Meanwhile, as of August 28, 40 new COVID-19 cases were recorded, bringing the total number of known cases to 1, 180.

The number of persons in the COVID-19 ICU is nine, 96 persons are in institutional isolation and 407 are in home isolation.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 633. Region Four now has 402 confirmed cases, followed by Region Nine with 229.

Region Seven has 208 cases and Region One, 158. A total of 75 confirmed cases are recorded in Region Ten, Regions Three recorded 63 cases, Region Eight recorded 15 and Region Six with 14; 12 cases have been recorded in Region Two and Region Five, four cases.
