Two persons are admitted in the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital after a car crashed into their motorcycle in the vicinity of Rahaman’s Park, Houston, East Bank Demerara Saturday night.
A statement from the Police noted that motorcycle # CJ 4120 and motorcar # PMM 4476 were proceeding in the same direction on the Houston Public Road when the car reportedly turned into the path of the motorcycle while negotiating a right turn to proceed to the Houston access road.
As a result, the front of the motorcycle came into contact with the right side center portion of the car.
The motorcyclist and pillion rider fell onto the road surface where they received injuries about the body.
The accident occurred at about 21:10hrs.
They were both picked up in a conscious state by the Emergency Medical Technicians, placed in the kmbulance and taken to Georgetown Public Hospital. They are said to be in a stable condition.
Police said the driver of the car is in Police custody assisting with the investigation.
