Essential workers, including healthcare workers and members of the Police Force, the Army, and the Prison and Fire Services, will soon benefit from childcare assistance.

This was announced Monday by Minister of Human Services and Social Security Dr Vindhya Persaud during a press conference which was hosted virtually.

She said that direct payments will be made to childcare facilities which are used by the essential workers.

To benefit, the essential workers will have to fill out a form which will be sent to their employers or they can apply online.

The initiative will benefit those who have children below the age of seven.
