67 new COVID-19 cases from 312 tests

A total of 67 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Monday from a total of 312 tests bringing the total known cases to 1,373 inclusive of 41 deaths.

According to the dashboard released by the Ministry of Health, 17 new cases were recorded in Region One, six in Region Three, 19 in Region Four, two in Region Five, 11 in Region Seven and four in Region Nine.

The dashboard revealed that 11 persons are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC).

There are 579 persons in isolation – 67 in institutional isolation and 512 in home isolation.

A total of 742 persons have now recovered; there are 98 persons in institutional quarantine. The number of persons tested to date are 8,822.

The Ministry of Health in a statement on Tuesday urged everyone to observe the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES (NO.9) that are in effect until September 30, 2020.

This order emphasises the need to always use a facemask correctly and consistently when leaving their home, practice physical distancing, and practice good hand hygiene to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

It also reminded of a curfew from 6pm to 6am.
