Nicholas Boyer is new Chairman of PSC

Nicholas Deygoo-Boyer was on Monday elected as the new Chairman of the Private Sector Commission (PSC).

Boyer who is currently serving as the President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) in an acceptance post on social media said “I am excited to lead the organization in my final year as President of the GCCI, and look forward to working with my peers in the other Chambers and Associations to further National Development.”

The elections were held at the 28th Annual General Meeting of the PSC where Mr Victor Fernandes was elected Vice-Chairman, Ramesh Dookhoo as Secretary, Zulfikar Ally, Treasurer and Mr. Manniram Prashad as Corporate Coordinator.

The PSC in a statement on Tuesday said “congratulates and wishes the newly elected Executives a successful tenure of office as they assume this important role within the business community and look forward to their continued dedication to the Private Sector of Guyana.”

In his remarks on Monday, former Chairman of the PSC Capt. Gerald Gouveia charged his successor to have engagements with the government for the implementation of future developmental plans for the Private Sector.

Gouveia said that he would continue to remain a Corporate Member of the Commission and look forward to supporting the new Chairman and Executive.

Gouveia was recently appointed Advisor to the President on National Security and therefore did not contest for chairmanship of the Commission.
