La Grange mason killed in hit and run

Police are on the hunt for a driver who escaped after hitting down a 24-year-old mason on the La Grange Public Road, West Bank Demerara on Tuesday night.

Police Headquarters noted that Imran Abdul of Unity Street, La Grange, left his brother’s Goed Fortuin house and was walking along the eastern side of the road when he was struck from behind at around 21:40h by a speeding unknown vehicle.

Police said Khan received injuries to his head and back.  He was picked up in an unconscious condition and escorted to the West Demerara Regional Hospital by the Police where he was pronounced on arrival.

The body is presently lying at Ezekiel Funeral Parlor awaiting post mortem examination. The investigation is ongoing.
