Manniram Prashad back at Gaming Authority, Paul Cheong to head GuyOil Board

Former Minister under the PPP Government Manniram Prashad has been re-appointed as Chairman of the Gaming Authority according to publication in the Official Gazette.

In the same publication, Accountant Paul Cheong has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Guyana Oil Company (GuyOil). Cheong was also appointed Chairman of the National Industrial and Commercial Investments Limited (NICIL).

These appointments took effect August 27, 2020, and will last for a period of one year, ending August 26, 2021.

Prashad replaces Attorney-at-Law Roysdale Forde at the Gaming Authority while Cheong replaces Mark Bender at GuyOil.

The other Board Members on GuyOil’s Board are Shameer Hussain, Abina Moore, Dr Vishnu Bandhu, Akanni Blair, and Dru Bahadur.

While Abena Moore, Genevieve Blackman, Sase Gunraj, and Mark Conway joins Prashad on the Gaming Authority Board.

In 2012, Prashad had served as Chairman of the Gaming Authority.
